文人與戲曲——論程嘉燧的戲曲活動

摘 要:歷來學界研究只關注程嘉燧(1565-1643)作為布衣詩人與畫家兩個角度。實際上,程嘉燧還擅音律,好觀劇,其頻繁觀劇聽曲的日常在觀劇詩中得到集中表現,並體現了詩歌、繪畫、曲樂三者的異體融通。程嘉燧頻繁觀劇聽曲,根源於其自身知音律、好觀劇、可唱戲,又依託於晚明宴飲之風所提供曲樂活動的條件。探究程嘉燧的戲曲活動,有利於多維、立體地審視這位布衣詩人,同時也有益於認識晚明大背景下江南文人的宴飲生活狀態。

A Study On Cheng Jiasui’s Opera Activities from the relation of Litertati and
Chinese Opera Perspective

Abstract: The previous studies of Cheng Jiasui (1565–1643) have been mainly focused on his identity as a commoner poet and as a painter. In fact, Cheng Jiasui was also well versed in music and theatre. His daily engagement with opera and musical performance is prominently recorded in his poetry about theatre observation, which embodies an integration and interplay in his distinct art forms of poetry, painting, and music-drama. Cheng Jiasui’s frequent participation in theatrical and musical activities was rooted in his own musical competence, his passion for opera, and his ability to perform, and was further enabled by the culture of social banqueting in the late Ming dynasty, which provided ample samples for such pursuits. The examination of Cheng Jiasui’s opera activities not only allows for a more multidimensional and nuanced understanding of this commoner poet, but also sheds light on the banquet-centered lifestyle of Jiangnan literati in a broader context of the late Ming Society.
